Annual award highlights women business leaders who are making a significant impact on the state’s economy
The Women’s Edge (formerly The Commonwealth Institute) together with its partner The Boston Globe, announced on October 28, 2022 that Jack Conway is a part of the 22nd annual Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list, recognizing the honorees during a celebratory breakfast event. These 100 organizations generated nearly $72 billion in total revenue in 2021, demonstrating that women are key drivers of the state’s economy.
“The organizations on this year’s diverse list are driving innovation across the country, from increased manufacturing capacity to breakthroughs in clinical care and therapeutics” said The Women’s Edge Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth L. Hailer. “We are honored to celebrate the Top 100 women leaders and hopes it inspires others to drive for success here in our region and beyond.”
Jack Conway is led by CEO and Chairman of the Board, Carol Bulman. Carol is the daughter of the late Jack Conway, who founded his business in Hingham Square in 1956. She has more than 30 years of experience in her family’s firm and in the Massachusetts housing and mortgage industries. Under her leadership since 2008, Jack Conway & Co. has acquired six real estate companies and extended its services to the home buyers and sellers of the North Shore. She established Conway Country Insurance, Columbia Title, and Conway Move Management, and reinstituted Conway Financial Services.
Carol’s daughters, Kaitlin Clifford and Corie Nagle, who both work for Jack Conway, attended the celebratory breakfast on behalf of Carol. During the event, the placements for the 100 women led businesses was announced, and Jack Conway came in at number 26.
“It’s a true honor to lead Jack Conway into the second generation and now into the third,” said Carol. “To be recognize as a top 100 Women-Led Businesses is exciting, and the credit certainly goes to the members of Jack Conway and our Core Services, as well as the many buyers and sellers who have chosen Jack Conway. A special thank you to Katie Clifford and Corie Nagle, my wonderful daughters, who accepted the award for us today!”
This is the 22nd year that The Women’s Edge – a Boston-based nonprofit organization devoted to advancing women in leadership positions — created the list through a nomination process and reviewed both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and the 10th year that the list was created in collaboration with The Boston Globe. In addition to revenue or operating budget, factors considered in the evaluation included workplace and management diversity, board makeup, and innovative projects. The full list will be published in the Globe Magazine’s Women & Power issue at Globe.com/magazine on October 28 and in print on October 30.
“We’re proud to once again partner with The Women’s Edge to recognize these 100 remarkable companies—and the remarkable women who lead them,” said Globe Magazine editor Francis Storrs. “It’s a privilege to celebrate this year’s honorees for all they’ve accomplished, and for the example they’re setting for future generations of leaders.”
